Roadworthy certificate Caboolture

Roadworthy certificate Caboolture

Aussie Brake & Clutch carries out roadworthy inspections for local drivers in Caboolture and nearby areas. In Queensland, this is usually called a safety certificate, but plenty of people still call it a roadworthy.

It is commonly needed when a registered vehicle is being sold, transferred or put back on the road. The inspection checks the main safety parts of the vehicle, not every mechanical detail.

Our workshop checks the basics properly, including brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, windscreen, wipers, seatbelts and other safety items. If something needs work, we will explain it clearly and can help with repairs through our Caboolture mechanic workshop.

We’ve been helping local drivers since 1987. You can also read more about our workshop and the team behind Aussie Brake & Clutch.

We help drivers from Caboolture, Morayfield, Narangba, North Lakes and Burpengary.

What gets checked

A safety certificate inspection is mainly about whether the vehicle is safe to be on the road. It is not the same as a full service or pre-purchase inspection.

  • Brakes and brake performance
  • Tyres and wheels
  • Steering and suspension
  • Lights, indicators and reflectors
  • Windscreen, wipers and washers
  • Seats and seatbelts
  • Body condition and rust
  • Leaks or faults that affect road safety

If the brakes are worn or not performing properly, we can handle brake repairs in Caboolture, including pads, rotors, brake fluid and disc machining. We also stock a wide range of brake parts and clutch parts, so if your vehicle needs replacement components, we can usually supply and fit them in the one workshop.

Before selling or transferring a car

Most people come in because they are selling a car, transferring registration or sorting out a vehicle that has been off the road. If the car has not been serviced for a while, it is worth getting it checked before leaving everything to the last minute.

Small things can hold up a roadworthy certificate. Worn tyres, blown lights, poor brakes, split wiper blades or loose suspension parts are common ones.

If something needs fixing

A failed inspection does not always mean a big job. Sometimes it is a quick repair. Other times the vehicle needs proper mechanical work before it can be signed off.

Our workshop can help with common roadworthy repairs, including:

  • Brake pad and rotor replacement
  • Brake disc machining
  • Suspension and steering repairs
  • Light and basic electrical faults
  • Tyres and wheel-related issues
  • General mechanical repairs
  • Replacement auto parts

If the car is due for maintenance as well, we can also take care of logbook servicing while it is in the workshop.

Book your roadworthy certificate at 21 Industry Dr, Caboolture QLD 4510.

One workshop from start to finish

Sometimes a vehicle passes first go. Sometimes it needs a couple of things sorted before a safety certificate can be issued. Either way, you don’t have to run around town trying to organise different workshops.

If repairs are needed, we can usually take care of them here, whether it’s brakes, suspension, steering or general mechanical work. Once everything is sorted, we can complete the inspection without sending you somewhere else.

It’s a simpler process, especially if you’re selling a car or trying to get it back on the road. We’ll let you know what needs doing, answer any questions you’ve got, and get things moving as quickly as we can.

Frequently asked questions

What is checked during a roadworthy certificate inspection?

A roadworthy inspection looks at the main safety items on your vehicle, including the brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, windscreen, wipers, seatbelts and body condition. It is a roadworthy inspection, not a full mechanical service.

Is a safety certificate the same as a roadworthy certificate?

Yes. In Queensland, the official name is a Safety Certificate, but many people still call it a roadworthy certificate or RWC.

Do I need a roadworthy to transfer registration in Queensland?

In most cases, yes. If you’re selling a registered vehicle or transferring registration to a new owner, you’ll usually need a current Safety Certificate.

How long is a roadworthy certificate valid in Queensland?

For most private vehicles, a Safety Certificate is generally valid for 2 months or 2,000 km from the date it is issued, whichever comes first.

What happens if my car doesn't pass?

We’ll explain exactly what needs attention before the certificate can be issued. Many vehicles only need a few repairs, and we can usually carry those out in our workshop.

Can you repair my car if it fails the inspection?

Yes. We carry out everything from brake repairs and suspension work to general mechanical repairs, so you won’t need to take your vehicle somewhere else.

Do you inspect 4WDs, utes and work vehicles?

Yes. We inspect passenger vehicles, 4WDs, utes and many light commercial vehicles that require a Queensland Safety Certificate.

Can I book a service and roadworthy together?

Absolutely. If your vehicle is due for a service, we can complete a logbook service or general service while it’s in the workshop.

How long does a roadworthy inspection take?

Inspection times vary depending on the vehicle and its condition, but most inspections are completed the same day. If repairs are needed, we’ll let you know before any work starts.

Where is your workshop?

You’ll find Aussie Brake & Clutch at 21 Industry Drive, Caboolture, servicing customers across Caboolture, Morayfield, Narangba, Burpengary and surrounding suburbs.
