Brake pads, rotors and calipers
Brake parts need to match the vehicle and the way it is driven. A small hatchback used around town does not need the same setup as a 4WD towing a trailer or a ute carrying tools every day.
We can help with brake pads, rotors, calipers, brake shoes, drums and hydraulic parts. If your brakes are squealing, grinding or pulling to one side, the car may need more than just pads. Our brake repair workshop can check it and let you know what actually needs replacing.
Clutch kits and hydraulic parts
We also stock clutch kits and related hydraulic parts, including master cylinders, slave cylinders, hoses and seals. These parts are common failure points, especially on vehicles that do a lot of stop-start driving, towing or heavy work.
If your clutch is slipping, hard to press, noisy or not going into gear cleanly, it is worth getting it checked before it leaves you stuck. Our team also handles clutch repairs in Caboolture, so we can supply the parts and carry out the work if needed.
Brake rotors, drums and machining
Not every rotor or drum needs to be replaced straight away. In some cases, machining can clean up the surface and get it working properly again, as long as the part is still within safe thickness limits.
We carry out brake disc machining and drum machining in-house. If a rotor is too thin, badly worn or heat damaged, we will tell you and recommend replacement instead. The goal is simple: safe brakes, no guesswork.
Parts for mechanics and DIY repairs
Some customers come in because they know exactly what part they need. Others come in with a noise, a warning light, or a part in their hand and no idea what it is called. Either is fine.
We can help with parts for mechanics, home repairs, older vehicles and everyday servicing. If you are doing the job yourself, we can help make sure you are buying the right part the first time.
Same workshop, parts and repairs
The handy thing with Aussie Brake & Clutch is that we are not just a parts counter. We are a full mechanical workshop in Caboolture, so if the job turns out to be bigger than expected, we can help with the repair too.
We also carry out logbook servicing, roadworthy certificates and 4WD repairs and upgrades.

FAQ – Brake & Clutch Parts
What parts do you need for a full brake job?
A full brake job typically covers pads, rotors (or drums on some rear setups), and the hardware and shims that hold everything in place. Depending on condition, it can also include calipers, hydraulic cylinders, hoses and brake fluid. We stock all of this in house, pads and rotors through to calipers, hoses and hardware kits, so most jobs can be sorted from what’s already on our shelves. If you’re not sure exactly what your vehicle needs, give us the make, model and year and we’ll check it for you.
What’s the difference between brake pads, rotors and calipers?
Brake pads are the friction material that presses against the disc to slow the wheel down, they’re the part that wears out fastest and needs regular replacement. Rotors, also called discs, are the metal discs the pads clamp onto. Calipers are the housing that holds the pads and pushes them against the rotor when you brake. All three work together, so wear on one often affects the others, which is why we check the whole setup rather than just replacing whatever’s noisiest.
Do you need to replace all four brake pads at once?
Not necessarily. Pads are usually replaced in axle pairs, both fronts together or both rears together, rather than all four at once, since front and rear pads wear at different rates depending on the vehicle. If both axles happen to be at a similar wear point it can make sense to do all four together, but we’ll check actual wear before recommending that rather than replacing parts that don’t need it yet.
Which brake parts wear out first?
Front brake pads generally wear faster than rears on most vehicles, since the front brakes handle more of the stopping load. That said, it varies with driving style, vehicle type and how the car’s loaded, so we check all four corners rather than assuming.
What’s the most expensive brake part to replace?
Calipers and rotors are usually the priciest individual brake parts, pads are the most frequently replaced but the cheapest per item. Cost also depends heavily on the vehicle, European and performance vehicles in particular can have brake parts that cost several times more than a standard passenger car. We stock a wide range through Protex, so we can usually find a quality option without you having to go to the dealer.
What parts are normally replaced as part of a clutch job?
A full clutch job usually replaces the clutch plate, pressure plate and release bearing together as a kit, since they wear as a set. Depending on the vehicle and what’s found during inspection, it can also include the flywheel, slave or master cylinder, and clutch hoses. We stock clutch kits and the related hydraulic parts, so most jobs can be supplied and fitted without a long wait on parts.
What’s included in a clutch kit?
A standard clutch kit includes the clutch plate, pressure plate and release bearing, the three components that wear together and are almost always replaced as a set. Some kits also include an alignment tool. Flywheels, hoses and hydraulic cylinders are usually supplied separately since they don’t wear at the same rate and aren’t always due for replacement.
